I offer compassionate and straightforward solutions to assist families in a mental health crisis. I have received positive feedback that my family work helps the system become healthier and more peaceful. We work together to enable everyone to have a voice. I provide families with practical tools to deescalate power struggles, process feelings of shame and guilt, and help families set boundaries and expectations. My goal is to assist your family in creating an environment that leads to successful outcomes for you and your loved ones.
Navigating the response to the hospitalization of a family member has an impact on the whole family. Parents have so many questions concerning the course of the experience, what caused it, how to steer things "back to normal." Siblings may find changes in relationship dynamics to be confusing and stressful. Many families have expressed that they feel lost in a sea of doctors, medications, and medical/legal terminology. Many well-meaning parents are at a loss for what to expect or where to go next.
Each member of the family plays a role in the healing process. Since every person responds to crises differently, sometimes the path seems clear, and other times, trying to help appears to make the situation worse. Power struggles, isolation, feelings of grief, and anger are not uncommon while recovering from a significant rupture in the home.
I am available or Telehealth sessions in the great state of California.
There are certain circumstances in which I am able to make house calls. I understand that sometimes I need to meet people where they are at. When distress is severe and symptoms do not allow for office visits we can meet in safe and comfortable settings that ultimately encourage you into eventual levels of higher functioning.
